Lisanne Hounjet

BSW, RSW

I’m a Registered Social Worker who provides counselling for individuals, couples, and families seeking support with substance use, relationship challenges, stress, and life transitions.

I believe counselling is a collaborative process grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes that align with your values and goals.

Areas of Focus

I support individuals, couples, and families who may be experiencing:

  • Substance use concerns

  • Relationship and communication challenges

  • Stress and burnout

  • Life transitions

  • Family conflict

  • Trust and connection concerns

  • Emotional regulation

  • Personal growth and self-discovery

My Approach

I understand that substance use and emotional struggles rarely exist in isolation. They are often connected to past experiences, stress, relationships, and the broader circumstances of our lives.

My practice is informed by trauma-aware, relational, and strengths-based approaches. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, experiences, and challenges that may be impacting your well-being while identifying practical ways to move toward lasting change.

When working with couples and families, I help clients strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and better understand the relationship patterns that influence their connections with others. I strive to create a balanced and supportive environment where each person feels respected and heard.

What Working Together Looks Like

I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest about their experiences and supported enough to explore them at a pace that feels manageable.

Whether you’re working through a difficult transition, navigating relationship challenges, or exploring your relationship with substance use, we’ll work together to identify goals and create a path forward that feels realistic and sustainable.

A Little More About Me

As a mother of two teenagers, I have a lived appreciation for the unpredictability, challenges, and growth that come with family life. Parenting adolescents continues to remind me that communication is an ongoing process—and that flexibility and humour go a long way.

Outside of my practice, I value time with my family and can often be found with a book in hand. I truly believe that a good book and a great cup of coffee can solve at least a few of life’s smaller problems.
